If you are looking for portable, educational, and fun interactive toy, Toddler Little Tikes recommends the DiscoverSounds® Universal Remote, which you can preview on the Little Tikes website. It plays numbers and phrases in three languages (English, Spanish, and French). It also makes animal sounds and just plain silly sounds – an excellent way to help make speech pronunciation fun as well as productive. This little gadget, which resembles a TV remote, also flashes bright colors, facilitating color recognition. It also has an easy to spin TV dial used to select channels that play sounds or songs. The big plus with the remote is that it has a volume control! Personally, I think all toys should come with a volume control. A feature like this teaches a child that quiet fun can be just as fun as loud fun – a way of introducing consideration into your child’s set of life’s lessons, especially when Daddy is trying to take a nap!
